He graduated from Kaohsiung Medical University in 1990. After one year of training in general surgery, he spent his residency at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. Dr. Chien had been the chairman of Department of Otolaryngology, Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital between 2006 and 2015. Currently, he is the president of Taiwan Head and Neck Society, the professor and faculty of Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. He also actively involves in the international affair in head and neck oncology. He serves as the financial chair and board member of Asia Society of Head and Neck Oncology. In the professional affiliations, he is the member of the Taiwan Otolaryngology Head and Neck Society, Taiwan Head and Neck Society, Taiwan Society for Skull Base Surgery, Asian Society of Head and Neck Oncology, American Academy of Otolaryngology Head &#038; Neck Surgery, International Academy of Oral Oncology, American College of Surgeon, and American Head and Neck Society. Dr. Chien&#8217;s major interest is in the field of head and neck surgical oncology and related translational researches.
